I am very sorry to hear Bob has lost his fight with cancer. As I am writing this I am getting my first Chemo treatment.Bob and I worked closely together at Western Electric in North Andover and out of the Boston office for a decade between 1969 and 1979. Togethe we did the prototype work, guided by Mc Kinsey Consultants, that led to the establishment of Product Mangement in Western Electric.Bob and I had a few things in common: BS Engineering Degrees from NU, 1st LT in Army during Vietnam war, MS degree in Management evenings; perhaps that and our leading edge work on Product Management led to our very close friendship. Bob was a great friend and partner during our early careers.Phil Scanlan
