George W. O'Donnell III, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Springbrook Center in Westbrook.

He was born September 14, 1942, to George W. O'Donnell II and Anna (McSweeney) O'Donnell.
After attending Portland schools, he joined the Army in 1961, where he served as a power generator specialist, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. While serving in the Army, he earned his Sharpshooter and Expert Rifle qualification badges.

Whether it was fishing on the boat, working at his land in Vienna, or hunting with his friends, George loved to be outdoors. He was thrilled to be able to share this love of the outdoors with his grandson, Bradley. The two spent many hours fishing, hunting, and exploring the Maine woods.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret O’Donnell of South Portland; two daughters, Kathleen Saucier of South Portland, and Mary Ellen Pennington and husband, Shawn, of Westbrook; grandson, Bradley M.
