Obituary for Maya Eva Linnell

Fort Kent- Maya Eva Linnell, 23, of Fort Kent, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Maine Medical Center as the result of an accident.
Maya was born in Manchester, Connecticut the daughter of Paul Linnell and Lori Ann Fournier.
Maya loved music, she played violin, guitar, and enjoyed playing the ukulele with her sister. She was on the robotics team in high school and was currently a mentor for the elementary school robotics program. Maya loved animals, especially her cat, Mooshoo. She loved jokes that are so unfunny that they are funny. She was known in her family as the “Pun Master” and would respond with “you’ve got to kitten me right meow”. Maya was working her dream job as a counselor at a group home for people with mental illness. She was well known and loved in the community even though she had only lived in Fort Kent for a year. She always helped people, and would be honored in this moment, through the gift of organ donation, for this chance to help even more people.
Maya was predeceased by two grandfathers, Ronald Fournier and Richard Bouchard. She is survived by her mother and stepfather Lori Ann and Gary Bouchard of Fort Kent; a sister, Jolie Bouchard of Fort Kent; two brothers, Andrew Johnson of Fort Kent and Cody Linnell of CT; grandparents, Ann Fournier of Barrington, NH, Gladys Bouchard of Fort Kent, and Judith Moran of AL; nephew, Benjamyn Johnson of Fort Kent; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
At the family’s request all services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, Maine. To view Maya’s memorial page, or to share an online condolence, please visit
