Obituary for Shelby Lynn Peters

Saco - Shelby Lynn Peters, 26 had her life cut short on June 2nd 2018 due to a tragic ATV crash. Born in Ellsworth, Maine on November 4th 1991 to Jean Minervino and Charles Peters. She began her childhood in Bar Harbor, Maine where her and her family loved to explore. She moved to Portland, Maine at the age of 6. She achieved her certification for her CRMA on May 26, 2018, she was very excited and proud. She gives special thanks to her son Giovanni for helping her study to reach that goal. She was aspiring to become a Nurse so she could continue to help and heal others, which came to her naturally due to her gigantic loving heart. Shelby was determined and finished what she started. She was in the Girl Scouts for six years. She also ran track and held records in the 40 yard dash. Shelby was extremely strong and resilient despite her life long trial with Bipolar.

Shelby was an optimistic, strong, independent single Mother for her two adoring sons Giovanni and Journey. Giovanni was her first real love and greatest motivation. Journey’s wild side always kept her on her toes but his gentle nature could always cheer her up. They enjoyed to color and do arts and crafts together almost nightly. Her boys were her pride and joy and she would do anything to keep them happy.

She was predeceased by her grandfather, Thomas Minervino and John Fitzsimmons. Shelby is survived by her sons; her parents; her grandmothers, Stella Peters and Mildred Fitzsimmons; her step father, Brian Peura and step mother, Lisa Peters; her sister, Jessica Peters and significant other Abram Snow; her brother Anthony Peters and his significant other DeAnairah Blake; her brother, Jonathon Peters; step siblings, Zachary, Christine, Nicholas and his wife Alyce, and David Gribbin; her nephew, Anthony Peters, Jr.; and niece, Jaliyah Fields, who she loved deeply. She is also survived by her best friend, Victoria Forbes; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Shelby could light up a room with her big beautiful smile and gorgeous green eyes anyone that knew her would say she was the life of the party. She was the greatest listener of of all time and loved everyone she ever met. Her biggest passion was her family and having everyone together. Forever in our memory she will always remain our Italian Princess.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10AM on Friday, June 8, at St.Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal Street, Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland.
