Nathalie MacLean Obituary (1924 - 2017)

South Portland-Nathalie (Bearor) MacLean, 92, of South Portland, ME, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2017 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME. Nat was born in Anson, ME, on November 2, 1924, to Adelor and Jennie (Garneau) Bearor. She graduated from Madison High School in 1942, and was later employed by Holmes Stickney. In 1947, she married John A. MacLean, Sr. in Madison, ME. They later settled in Portland, ME, where they raised their three children. During her time at home raising her children, she made wedding cakes for family, friends and others. She was a communicant of St. Patricks Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister and a member of the Womens Council. Christmas was her favorite holiday, spending time with family members. Nat is predeceased by her parents; her husband John; her granddaughter, Carin A. MacLean; brothers, Roland, Reginald, Raymond, Edmund, Elwood, and sister, Regina Stansbury. She is survived by her daughter, Elane Decker (Duane), Westbrook, ME; two sons, B. Alan MacLean (Beverly), South Portland, ME; and John A. MacLean Jr, Biddeford, ME; her grandson Dr. Craig MacLean (Amy), and great-grandsons, Benjamin, Matthew and William MacLean, Exeter, NH; grandson-in-law Daniel Alves and great-grandchildren Elisabeth and Andrew Alves, Pawtucket, RI; four sisters, Melvena Beauford, Lyme, NH; Charlene Carroll, Scarborough, ME; June Shusta, Madison, ME; and Shirley Reid (Richard), Gray ME; sister-in-law Roberta Place, Portland, ME; and brothers-in-law Ronald MacLean (Michelle), Woburn, MA and Robert MacLean (Gail), Portland ME. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland ME. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 9:15am followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe, 150 Black Point Rd, Scarborough, ME. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, South Portland, ME.
