SOUTH PORTLAND - Cynthia "Cindy" M. Kaiser, 63, of Liberty Lane died on March 15, 2012, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island the daughter of Robert A. and Dorothy M. Violette Hill. She attended local schools and graduated from Falmouth High School in the class of 1967, she continued her education at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute where she studied culinary arts. On July 12, 1969 she married Douglas J. Kaiser in Yarmouth, Maine. Cindy worked for many years as a chef and baker; she worked twelve years at the rectory of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. For the past nine years she worked at the Baxter School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. In her spare time, Cindy enjoyed fishing, knitting, baking, helping others and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Her greatest love was spending time surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a long time communicant of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in South Portland. Cindy was predeceased by her father Robert Hill. She is survived by her husband of forty two years, Douglas J. Kaiser of South Portland; her mother Dorothy M. Hill of Cumberland; three daughters, Christine Kaiser and her partner Edward Salunek of South Portland, Sarah and her husband Mark Marcotte of North Waterboro, Jamie and her husband Mike Turcotte of Old Orchard Beach; several brothers and sisters; five grandchildren, Maximilian Salunek, Danforth Kaiser Salunek, Nathaniel Kaiser Salunek, Lydia Marcotte and Benjamin Turcotte along with several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18th at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway. An 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 19th at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street, Portland. Burial will be private at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
