COVENTRY, CT - Elizabeth Pratt, 87, of South Portland, ME passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Manchester Manor in Coventry, CT. Elizabeth Ann 'Betty' Pratt was born on February 8, 1926, in Portland, the daughter of John J. and Annie E. Burke O'Toole. Betty attended parochial school and attended Deering High School. Betty had a long-life career with the Telephone Company, and retired in 1984. Betty was a volunteer at Maine Medical Center, loved animals, especially her cat Mitzy. Betty also thoroughly enjoyed traveling. Her favorite destination was Hawaii. Betty was very close to her sister, Mary, and they enjoyed spending time together. One of their favorite activities was playing in the band at the American Legoin. Betty played the bugle, which is fast becoming a "lost art" these days. She was predeceased by her parents John J. and Annie E. Burke O'Toole, sister, Mary O'Toole McDonough, February 2012; Grandchild, Raymond Wakefield, III, 1999; grandchild Eric Griffin, July 1974. Survivors include daughter, Sharon Wakefield and her husband Raymond of Portland, ME; Grandchildren Jennifer Zawacki of Coventry, CT, SSG Robert G. Griffin II of Columbia, SC, and Michelle Wakefield of Portland, ME; and great grandchildren, Kayleigh and Brett Griffin, Columbia SC; and Tyler Zawacki of Coventry, CT. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, Feb. 21, at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited Friday, at 8:15 am at the funeral home, followed by a 9 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 1342 Congress St., Portland. Interment will follow in Old Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. Special Thanks to Springbrook Health Care Center in Westbrook, Maine for providing outstanding care in a warm and comfortable setting.
