We are a multi-location family owned firm serving Cumberland and York Counties. We are offering an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Licensed Funeral Director.

Located only 90 minutes from Boston, Portland, Maine offers a wonderful quality of life. Walker Memorial Group has a reputation for providing top-notch quality service. With an anticipated acquisition in December of 2020, our firm will serve approximately 650-700 families a year and is a member firm of Selected Independent Funeral Homes. We are a full service and progressive funeral home that honors tradition.

We offer an amazing opportunity to learn and grow in every aspect of our profession. The right candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Funeral Directing including transfers, embalming, arrangements and directing memorial ceremonies.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and outstanding care to each family we serve.
  • Ability to work well with others and willingness to become part of a tight knit team
  • Ability to create personalized tributes.
  • A positive attitude and commitment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maine Funeral Directors/Apprentice License (or ability to obtain one).
  • Embalming/preparation skills with attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Availability to work an on-call rotation .
  • Ability to lift a reasonable amount of weight.
  • Personal commitment to integrity and professionalism.
